Only In #DTEVV
What do an aquaponic farm, 10-hour parking, a cat café, and more have in common? They're all in #DTEVV!
Aquaponic FarmThis aquaponic farm grows Romaine and Bibb lettuce in the heart of Downtown Evansville. The farm has been located Downtown for five years. On average, the lettuce will take three and a half weeks before it is ready for consumption. The lettuce is served at local establishments, including Downtown restaurants Cosmos and 2nd Language. At full capacity the farm is able to grow as much as 1,400 heads of lettuce at a time.

A Cat Café
River Kitty Cat Café
226 Main St
At any time, River Kitty Cat Café is home to around 16 cats who are available for adoption. Owned and operated by the Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS), every dollar spent at the café supports their efforts to care for homeless animals in our community. When a cat finds it’s new family, VHS welcomes another cat from the shelter, making space at the shelter and giving another cat a new audience with hopes of finding a forever home. As of April 2023 more than 1,200 cats have been adopted from the café.
